World Mental Health Day: MDA Space Partners with A Dollar A Day Foundation

On October 10th, World Mental Health Day, MDA Space announced that we have teamed up with the A Dollar A Day Foundation, a Canadian-based non-profit organization, to promote mental health awareness and support the wellbeing of our employees and communities from coast to coast.

The A Dollar A Day Foundation is dedicated to supporting frontline mental health and addictions programs across Canada. MDA Space is proud to be a supporter of A Dollar A Day, providing vital funding for initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of Canadians.

The foundation’s mission resonates deeply with MDA Space. We’re passionate about creating a workplace where everyone is encouraged to prioritize their mental wellbeing. With this partnership, we aim to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health issues, while highlighting the resources available.

We are proud to have Brendan Paddick, MDA Space Chair and Board of Director and co-founder of the A Dollar A Day Foundation, championing this cause. Brendan’s dedication to mental health awareness and his leadership in the space industry are truly inspiring.

“At MDA Space, our people are the driving force behind our success and innovation,” said Permpreet Soomal, Vice-President of Human Resources at MDA Space. “As we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in space technology, we recognize that the wellbeing and mental health of our team members is essential to our continued growth and progress. One in two Canadians will experience a mental health issue before the age of 40. Knowing that mental health challenges touch so many lives, MDA Space is committed to breaking the stigma and raising awareness for mental health support for our employees and communities across the country.”

Heather Spratt, Executive Director of A Dollar A Day, adds “MDA Space’s support of A Dollar A Day will translate into direct impact for people in need today. By partnering with A Dollar A Day, MDA Space is reaching a diverse range of people with a diverse range of challenges in every corner of Canada. We hope their leadership will inspire others to also walk the walk when it comes to supporting mental health and addictions recovery.”

Through our collaboration with the A Dollar A Day Foundation, and organizations with similar mandates in other countries where we operate, MDA Space hopes to make a positive impact on the lives of our employees, their families, and the broader community. Together, we can work towards creating a culture that supports mental health and wellbeing, and helps to replace despair with hope, dignity, and opportunity.
